Well, here I am...writing my first ever blog for my Live space. It's 7:06am and I have to get ready for work soon. I work for a company called Carpet Call and we are retail and wholesale suppliers of floor coverings like carpet, timber, vinyl.

 

At the moment, I am just completing my 1st month's training. I have 2 options I can take in the short term with this company...retail store manager, or builder's contract division. It is a decision that has to take into account stuff like working hours, money, and career advancement.

 

The reason I am doing this job is to obtain crucial experience in sales...and oh boy, am I gettting that! The hours are really long (10-11 hrs p/d) but very rewarding. I am already the number 1 sales guy in the company and this is due to the great mentoring I am recieving from my immediate superior James Dunkley.

 

Robert Kiyosaki tells us that all great entrepeneurs are great sales men. I have no intention of working for someone else and making them rich for the remainder of my life and my current job is just a stepping stone.

 

The books I read, the autonomous and on the job sales training I recieve and my general life experiences are preparing me for the next step. There are many ways to get rich, for example...

 

In 1932, the richest family in Australia got there start by merely threatening to open a company that would compete with the number 1 in a certain industry. The number one company was so frightened they offered them 80,000 Australian pounds (around 2 million in today's money) to NOT compete with them. The richest family accepted the money and signed an agreement not to open the said company for 3 years...then used that capital to open the company anyway!
